How are festivals related to a particular season!

What is the relationship between season and festival?.

As we know that India is widely connected with farming and there are mainly three seasons to be considered for harvesting. 

India is a country, has very large areas and harvesting festivals which convey the same moral, are celebrated area wise with different names.

January is a better month for farming and so in India, if you start something good things then firstly will remember the God and then will start related works.

So, there are some harvesting festivals that are directly connected with fields on which farmers farming. 

And the following are the harvesting festivals that celebrate different states of India reflect the same meaning. And that is how you can say many festivals are linked with festivals.

After worshiping all these harvesting festivals farmers heartily start their works in the fields.

Harvesting Festivals:-

  1. Lohri Festival -- 13.01.2021
  2. Pongal Festivals –14.01-2021 Thursday, and ends on 17.01.2021, Sunday.
  3. Makar Sankranti -- 14.01.2021
  4. Vasant Panchami -- 16.2.2021
  5. Holi -- 28.03.2021, Sunday, (Spring Season -- 20.03.2021, Saturday, starts).

Some Major Festivals:-

During the end of the monsoon season, one of the known festivals that is Navratri starts. During these periods of time, people worship the Goddess Nav Durga / Jay Ambe for nine days. 

On the tenth day of Navratri, people burn the statue of Ravan, one of the evil, to whom the God Ramchandra killed. For the victory over evils, people celebrate the day as a Dashehra. And that is how you can say many festivals are linked with festivals.

  • Dussehra, 02.10.2021, Thursday.

In Hinduism, Diwali is a five-day festival of lights celebrates to welcome the new year and forgive all bad memories of the past year. 

On the second day of the new year, all married sisters invite their brothers to her home for a meal. Likewise in five days festivals, others festivals also link during festivals.

  • Diwali 20.10.2025, Monday.
  • Nootan Varsh, Hindu New Year, 22.10.2025, Wednesday.
  • Bhaiduj 23.10.2025, Thursday.

In between these festivals, people also celebrate the main Gods' festivals; such as the festival of God Shiva and the birth ceremony of God Krishna. 
  1. Mahashivratri 26.02.2025, Wednesday.
  2. Janmashtami, 16.08.2025, Saturday.

Likewise, we can conclude that some of the festivals are linked to a particular season.
