3 main festivals
There are so many festivals in India which all are celebrated very enthusiastically by people as we know. Out of them, I have chosen 3 main festivals.
As per my point of view, there are most celebrated 3 main festivals are mentioned below:
1. Sawan Month Festival - a total of one-month celebrations.
2. Diwali - a total of five days celebrations.
3. Christmas Festival - a total of twelve days celebrations.
1. Sawan Month Festival
This is a whole month's celebration consisting of numerous festivals during this Sawan Festival.
All devotees prefer to eat particulars foods, keep fasting as per guidelines, and calm their minds too. People pass the whole month by worshiping lord Shiva who gives blessings of health, wealth, and happy life.
- Shravan Maas is a very holy month for the Hindu religion. Shravan Maas is devoted to Devo Ke Dev Mahadev(Lord Shiva).
- During the whole month, most people fast on all Mondays(Somvar) of Shravan Maas.
- One of the beliefs is that if anyone worships Lord Shiva during the whole Shravan Month heartily, all their desires are fulfilled very soon.
- So devotees pray heartily to Mahadev to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva.
2. Diwali
Diwali is five days festival of lights celebrated every year and the people of India celebrating these days very enthusiastically to welcome the upcoming new year. The Diwali festivals teach lessons of togetherness virtue.
The whole family members meet together and celebrate the festival of lights. This is the system that celebrates since the era.
During these days people invite their friends, relatives, and other close people to make Diwali more memorable. This is one of the best annual festivals for Hinduism.
- Diwali in 2025 is on 20 October, Monday.
- Diwali is a five-day festival.
- The festival of Diwali is celebrated to honor Lord Ramachandra.
- After 14 years of exile, when Shri Ramchandra Bhagwan returned to his ancestral kingdom Ayodhya.
- During this exile, he fought and won the battle with the demon king Ravana.
- Diwali is the victory of good over evil and the victory of light over darkness.
- The Diwali festival is celebrated on the 15th day of Kartik, which is the holiest month in the Hindu lunar calendar.
- Deepawali is lit with earthen lamps, which gives spiritual light to Indian homes, symbolizing the inner light of every Indian.

3. Christmas Festival
- The Christmas festival is a total of twelve days celebrations.
- The Christmas winter solstice starts Wednesday, 22nd December’25, and ends on Sunday, 2nd January’22 means a total of twelve days celebration.
- Children eagerly wait for Santa to fulfill their wishes.
- Christmas is a great annual festival; celebrated every year, on December'25 as a cultural and religious festival in honor of the birth of Jesus Christ.
- People visit Church and offer prayers.
- The Christmas festival is especially celebrated by Christians with great joy.
- It is the birth anniversary of the great Jesus Christ, who is believed as the Son Of God by the people of the Christian religion.
- People do lots of preparations much before the Christmas festival and decorate their homes with glorious lights, beautiful trees, decorative items, and flowers.
- People distribute gifts, Christmas cards, organize feasts, sweets, chocolates, etc.; to the family members, friends, relatives, and neighbors.
