The Significance of Shravan Maas 2021:

  • Shravan Maas is a very holy month for the Hindu religion. Shravan Maas is devoted to Devo Ke Dev Mahadev(Lord Shiva). 
  • During the whole month, all people worship God Mahadev (Bholenath).
  • During the whole month, most people fast on all Mondays(Somvar) of Shravan Maas.
  • One of the beliefs is that if anyone worships Lord Shiva during the whole Shravan Month heartily, all their desires are fulfilled very soon. 
  • So devotees pray heartily to Mahadev to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva.

  • All Mondays (Shravan Somvar Vrat) of Shravan Month are considered very holy days for fasting. 
  • There are mostly 4/5 Somvar falls during Shravan Maas. 
  • Most of the devotees keep fasting for the whole day and worship Lord Shiva on every Somvar Of Shravan Maas. 
  • Many devotees keep fasting for 16 Somvars (16 Mondays), starting from the 1st Somvar of Shravan Maas.

What spiritual activities do people do during this holy month- Shravan Maas?

➤ During all days of Shravan, Most people get up early in the morning & take bathing, wear neat & clean clothes and firstly like to visit Shivalaya; will worship Linga & worship Lord Shiva heartily, chanting “Om Namah Shivay” and “Mahamrityunjay Mantra”.

➤ During Shravan Maas the devotees also like to chant all these mantras all day to get the blessing of Mahadev. It is also believed that Mahadev blesses all devotees with health, wealth, and happiness.

➤ People also participating in a group of Spiritual songs which is held at Shivalay.

➤ During Shravan Maas Fast, devotees mostly eat fruits, meals prepared with Sabudana use Rock Salt(Sendha Namak), milk, and milk products. Some devotees eat one meal a day.

➤ During Shravan Maas, the devotees also like to visit Jyotirlingas to pray to Lord Shiva to fulfill their desired goals.

There are a total of 12 main Jyotirlinga is self-manifested (Swayambhu) by Lord Shiva for his devotees.

b.This is a 10 days festival and during these days all devotees worship Goddess Dashama to get blessings from Mata Dashama.
