    It is celebrated with dancing and singing. It is a  Punjabi Festival celebrated on January 13 every year. Traditionally this festival is associated with harvest.

During this day, the full day people celebrate this festival with joy and celebrated togetherness.  It comes on 14th January every year. 

Even this day people may like to fly kites and also arrange kite competition and especially the International Kite Festival which is well organized.

[7].Pongal Festival.

There are 4 days of celebrations in the Pongal Festival and it is celebrated in Tamil Nadu, South India. 

This festival arrives in the month of "Thai". 

In the year 2021, it comes on 14th January i.e. Thursday, and complete on 17th January i.e. Sunday 2021. The main celebration occurs on 15th January i.e. Thai Pongal. 

As beliefs, the Pongal festival is celebrated to say thanks and to express gratitude to the Sun God and Indra God for giving blessings to farmers to get better crops that are harvested during this period. 

Pongal festival is celebrated for four days continuously. 

The great festival Pongal arrives around the same time as Lohri Festival and  Makar Sankranti every year in the middle of January Month.

Four Days Of Pongal Festival

1).Bhogi Pongal: is on 14th January, Thursday, is devoted to Lord Indra, God Of Rain. On this day people cook food on clay pots put over a bonfire made up of wood and cow's dung cake. People through old and waste things out of the house and celebrate the day with new things. 

2).Thai Pongal or Surya Pongal: is on 15th January, Friday, is devoted to Lord Surya. This day is the main event of the Pongal Festival associated with Makar Sankranti. On this day people wake up early in the morning and after taking bath and make a good Rangoli design called kolams on the floor through lime powder at the entrance of their house and decorate their homes with mangoes leaves and bananas leave. 

And also start to boil rice in the earthen pot along with milk, jaggery is boiled together in open to welcome Sun for eating. Other items also offer to Sun God are sugarcane pieces, coconut, and bananas also.

3).Mattu Pongal: is on 16th January, Saturday, is Celebrated to say thanks to farm animals for their help in fields. As a story, Lord Shiva sent his bull Nandi to earth with one message pass to people that take oil bath every day and eat once a month but due to confusion, Nandi passed the wrong message to people that eat daily and take oil bath one in a month and this made God Shiva angry over Nandi and sent Ox to earth forever to help people during harvesting and producing food. 

4).Kaanum Pongal: is on 17th January, Sunday, is celebrated to thank friends and relatives for their kind cooperation during the year and women pray for their brother for their prosperity.

Republic Day Of India is celebrated as an anniversary of the Constitution of India and it is celebrated every year on 26th January and is a national holiday of India.

⇨ Vasant Panchami is also called Basant Panchami or Shree Panchami; and is believed to worship Maha Saraswati, who is the Goddess of Knowledge, Languages, arts, and music.

⇨ This festival arrives in the Hindu month of Magh Shukla Panchami i.e. in the month of February and comes on the 16th Tuesday in 2021.


It is also known as Vivaha Panchami. It is believed that the Prince of Ayodhya Lord Rama and Princess Goddess Sita got marriage on this day. And from this day people `    `    of India start most of the marriage ceremonies from Vasant Panchami.

As we know that the famous color of Basant is Yellow and so people like to wear a yellow dress on this occasion due to the belief in the lucky Symbol of this day.

The great Shiva’s Ratri- will come on 11th March, Thursday 2021 that is in the month of Magh as per Hindu Calander. 

It is the most famous Hindu festival mainly celebrated in India & Nepal which is celebrated with utmost joy and symbolizes the worship of Lord Shiva. 

As per ancient history, if we make fasting on this day then we will get heaven at the end of life.

People like to do fasting and all day & they will eat baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, baked yam, etc. in place of full dish eating. 

This festival comes on new moon day and people get up early in the morning & take bathing, wear neat & clean clothes and firstly like to visit Shivalaya and offering pure water to Linga and worship Lord Shiva heartily, chanting “Om Namah Shivay”.

Also, people like to do chanting this mantra all day.

On this great day, people make lotus with the help of Clarified Butter (Ghee) at midnight of this day and arrange other various religious programs are held all day.

Lord Shiva also is known as “Devo Ka Dev Mahadev” & “Bholenath” mean the main Lord out of Lords. 

People like to offer Milk mixture of  Holy Ganga Water & Honey, Black Sesame & Black Sorely, Dry Dates,  Datura Flower & Fruits, and other flowers and fruits and mainly Bael Leaf to Lord Shiva and even offer pure water alone to Lord Shiva. 

This is a very special day as per Hinduism.

This Shivratri is biggest than the other 12 Shivratri which are coming in a year so known as Mahashivratri. 

[13].Spring Festival & Spring Season.

  • Spring Festival begins on  Saturday, 20 March 2021 & ends on Monday, 21 June 2021.
  • Every People who believe in nature and the natural environment is eagerly awaited for this season.
  • This is the season come between winter and summer means during this period of time temperatures gradually rise and during this season we see flowers bloom everywhere especially in gardens and trees begin to reproduce their leaves to greens which are dried or dropped during winter, and it seems a very pleasant season out of all seasons. 
  • In this season you only feel neither cold nor very hot and you find natural greenery everywhere because all trees, plants, gardens, and fields either reproduce or having new leaves or beautiful flowers blooms.

[14].HOLI Festival.

HOLI - is celebrated on full moon day in the month of Fagun on Purnima. Holi will begin on Sunday, 28 March 2021, and end on Monday, 29  March 2021. 

It is the most famous festival of colors which is celebrated with utmost joy and it symbolizes the victory of good over evil. 

People enjoy by rubbings of colors on each other’s body or face and chanting as “Bura Na Mano Holi Hai”. 

[15].Jaya Parvati Vrat.

Jaya Parvati Vrat is also known as "Gauri Vrat" in Gujarat, India. This festival will begin on Wednesday,  21 July 2021; and ends on Sunday, 25 July 2021. 

This is five days festival and during these days all girls worship Goddess Gauri; one of the names of Goddess Parvati Mata. Salt is strictly avoided during these five days. 

All girls are pray to Goddess Parvatiji for a good husband and for happy marriage life.

[16].Shravanmas.

  • This is thirty days festival and during all days of the holy month, people worship God Mahadev also named Bholenath. 
  • During these days also renewed festivals and days of God & Goddess also come in between, and people also worship accordingly. 
  • People get up early in the morning & take bathing, wear neat & clean clothes and firstly like to visit Shivalaya and offering pure water to Linga and worship Lord Shiva heartily, chanting “Om Namah Shivay”.

[17].Janmashtami.

Janmashtami - Devotees worship and pray to God Shree Krishna on this day.

Janmashtami is also known as Gokulashtami which is come on Monday, 30 August 2021. God Shree Krishna was born on Shravan Vad Aatham and it will come on the above-mentioned date in 2021. 

Shree Krishna is known as "Purna Purushauttam Parmeshwar". He had gave Geeta Ghyan to Arjun, one of Pandavas. 

People do fasting on this day and like to eat after the celebration of Shree Bal Krushan's happy birthday at 12 O'clock at night. People visit temples and worship Lord Shree Krishna and also chanting “Jai Ranchhod Maharaja & Shree Krishnam Vande Jagat Guru”.

[18].Rakshabandhan.
