  • He is also known as Babasaheb Ambedkar and B.R. Ambedkar in India.
  • He was an Indian jurist, politician, social reformer, and civil rights activist.

  • He had inspired the Dalit Buddhist Movement
  • Dr.Bheem Rao Ambedkar being appointed as chairman of a drafting committee and the object of this committee was to draft the constitution of India and this committee worked very hard and submitted their first draft on November 4, 1947, to the constituent Assembly.
  • The constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 by the constituent Assembly. It took 2 years 11 months and 18 days to finalize it. And it made effective on and adopted on 26th January 1950. And to honor this day the Republic Day Of India is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year on 26th January.
  • He was also considered the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
  • He was the first Minister of Law & Justice of Independent India.
